N.L.P Neuro Linguistic Programming, techniques are synthesised from hypnotherapy, gestalt therapy and family therapy, developed for fast, easy and successful change. Invented in the 1970s by Richard Bandler and John Grinder alongside Gregory Bateson after studying the therapeutic work of hypnotherapist Milton H Erickson, family therapist Virginia Satir and gestalt therapist Fritz Pearls

 

 NLP uses many wide awake techniques to bring about fast effective changes and combines excellently with hypnosis and cognitive therapy to create a good platform for changes you want to make with its flexibility. NLP techniques are fun to practice and are simple to use to great effect.

 

 We presuppose the nature of the world from our previous experiences. Information we take in through any of our 5 senses passes through personal filters that are the sum of our experiences or more correctly the sum of our “perceptions” of the experiences we have lived through. These filters of deletion, distortion and generalisation affect the outcomes we want in life, sometimes holding us back and in many cases can manifest themselves as phobias, stress, depression and even physical disorders. By reframing our past experiences so that they have less power over us we can move forward in life, free of the limitations we have imposed on ourselves. Overwriting negative emotions with new strong patterns of confidence and understanding so that your natural self is one of happiness, emotional strength, focus and motivation to achieve your very best.

 

 The Language we personally use and the language that is used on us, have the greatest effect on our personality and the limitations/expectations we set on ourselves. When other people put you down or inflict their negative opinions on you, when you read or hear bad news and other external negative values are thrust upon you to create a cumulative negative effect. See the person who uses negative self talk, reaffirming their belief in the worst of themselves: IE “I’ll never be able to do that”. Now imagine the difference when you say to yourself “I can do that so easily, I really enjoy the challenge and look forward to the rewards success will bring, I believe in myself”  feels better doesn’t it.

 

 The pictures we make in our heads, the feelings we hold inside and the voice of our inner self all work to support familiar feelings and recurring patterns of behaviour as these are ingrained into us and easily accessed and adhered to. NLP techniques address these patterns and introduce new ways of looking at a situation, an assertive inner voice that supports your goals, boost good feelings of confidence, easily.

 

 NLP is extremely effective in removing Phobias and unwanted habits (including smoking) by challenging the internal way you look at yourself and your experiences.
